We’re currently hard at work on the next version of our professional automation system, PlayoutONE Pro. Previously, Standard and Pro have shared a lot of the same technology - but as Pro evolves and develops with a major update and new exciting features, it’s no longer compatible with how PlayoutONE Standard works.

This means Standard can’t receive those new features - but it’s a solid, battle-tested system that’s been used and loved for years.

So while we have to split up PlayoutONE Standard from Pro, we want to make sure it’s still available for those who know and love it. Many of our team had their first taste of creating radio on free software, and it’s part of how they got into the industry - and we want to ensure that chance is available to people going forward. We hope people continue to create with PlayoutONE Standard for years to come.

PlayoutONE Standard is provided as-is, without any ongoing support. If you’re running in a professional, on-air environment, we recommend using PlayoutONE Pro. It includes features intended for full-time running of stations and includes support.

PlayoutONE Standard is feature complete, and version 5.4 has all the latest bug fixes included. There will not be any further updates to PlayoutONE Standard. Users who wish to continue receiving new features and the redesigned version 6 will need to have a PlayoutONE Pro subscription.

PlayoutONE Standard is ideal for individuals, hobbyists and home use, and uses single-hour templates and playlist files.

PlayoutONE Pro is designed for full-time broadcast, and has a dynamic log, web-based remote broadcasting and plenty of features for a professional environment. It also comes with access to our support team, including the 24-hour off-air emergency line. Find out more about PlayoutONE Pro.
