You may have seen in the news that a critical cyber-security issue has been occurring globally after serious issues have been found in the programming language PHP.
PHP is estimated to be used by 70% of web servers worldwide, and so like many providers, since this bug was announced on Wednesday we've been working hard to update our systems to ensure your data is safe.
You can follow any ongoing updates on our status page, but we thought it would be useful to give an explanation of what we've been doing, and what action you may need to take.
PlayoutONE and WebVT
We have released an urgent new update to PlayoutONE Pro, version v5.4.14, which includes an update to the version of PHP installed with WebVT.
You'll need to update PlayoutONE itself firstly, and then run the full WebVT installer - rather than just the usual 'check for updates' button within WebVT.
If you're already using a version from 5.2 onwards, you'll be able to run the patch yourself - if you're using a version before that, or need any help, please get in touch with our support team.
And if you'd like to get a notification about every new release for PlayoutONE, to make sure you're up to date about the latest bug fixes, you can now subscribe to a dedicated email service as part of our updated Release Notes page.
Aiir Platform (Websites, Mobile Apps, Scheduler, Studio Inbox, etc)
We've updated the version of PHP used by our main web platform - this includes Aiir itself, as well as all the websites powered by Aiir. No further action is required by users.
Audio.co
We've updated the PHP for Audio.co to ensure it has the latest security fixes.
Internal systems
We'd like to reassure you that we've also been updating all the various internal systems that power all our products to ensure there's no vulnerabilities that will affect you.
