WebVT Stream Deck Bridge Policy
Privacy Policy — WebVT Stream Deck Bridge
Last updated: 2026-10-03
What this extension does
The WebVT Stream Deck Bridge lets an Elgato Stream Deck button trigger a control inside WebVT (e.g. Record VT, Play Next, Triple Stack) directly in the browser tab, and reports WebVT's own on-screen state back so the Stream Deck button's icon can reflect it live.
Data collection
This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, or page content to any server - ours or anyone else's.
All communication happens over a WebSocket connection to `127.0.0.1` (the same computer the browser is running on) on port 57890, where the companion PlayoutONE Stream Deck plugin is listening. Nothing ever leaves your device. No analytics, no tracking, and no third-party integration of any kind.
Why the extension asks for permission per-site
WebVT is self-hosted by each customer and can be reached at a custom domain or a bare IP address, with no single, predictable pattern to scope the extension's permissions to in advance. Rather than requesting access to every website up front, the extension requests **no site access at all by default**, so you open its settings page, enter your WebVT site's address, and Chrome asks you to confirm access to that one specific site. The extension only ever runs on sites you've explicitly authorised this way.
As a second line of defence, even on an authorised site, the extension first checks for WebVT-specific page elements (e.g. its Record VT button) before doing anything at all.
